Lady Gaga calls fans to be part of ‘A Star is Born’ concert scenes
Lady Gaga issued a call to fans via Twitter to come and be a part of the audience in concert scenes for her upcoming film with Bradley Cooper, “A Star is Born.” Mother Monster shared the link to L.A.’s Greek Theatre website announcement on April 26. It asks fans to support Gaga and Cooper by helping “cheer and applaud” their performances in scenes being filmed May 2 and May 3 at the venue.
Per the theatre website, tickets for attending the filming are $12 per day, with ticket proceeds going to benefit Gaga’s youth empowerment charity, Born This Way Foundation. Attendees are featured as concertgoers in the scenes and are encouraged to dress with country-western flair. There is an eight ticket max and attendees must be 18 or older.
The instructions state, “All you Monsters that can attend should get decked out in your most comfortable denim & boots, throw on a Stetson (leave those pink Joanne hats at home) and come out to show your support.”
The pair of Oscar-nominated actors are currently filming the third remake of the classic film. Its most recent remake was the 1976 version starring Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson in the lead roles. Cooper is directing the 2018 version in which he stars opposite Gaga as fading country star Jackson Maine.
Maine’s career is waning as he discovers a talented unknown singer named Ally (played by Gaga, who is billed under her birth name Stephani Germanotta). Maine also battles alcoholism as the two begin a heated love affair and he convinces her to shoot for music industry fame.
Gaga has been busy outside of the film. She recently premiered her Billboard Hot 100 Top 40 hit, “The Cure,” while headlining Coachella. The track also hit No. 3 on the Digital Songs Sales Chart, which marks Gaga’s 17th career Top 5 on this chart.
The "Born This Way" singer made her critically-acclaimed acting debut on the small screen in Ryan Murphy’s Emmy-winning horror anthology series “American Horror Story.” She starred as The Countess in season five, “Hotel,” and won her first Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Miniseries or Television Film for the role. She returned to the series for the next season, “Roanoke,” in a smaller role as a witch.
Gaga is an avid philanthropist and works tirelessly to promote youth bravery and empowerment in her Born This Way Foundation. She also joined the Heads Together campaign with Prince William and Princess Kate to raise awareness of mental health issues.
“A Star is Born” is slated for release in 2018. Gaga is creating music for the film, which marks Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut.
